Crime in South Africa, as you probably know, is a real and personal thing to EVERY family. And I could write pages in people's stories, and the lengths people go to, to protect themselves and family. But I'll keep this simple. My Mom, and and a few other Ladies support a Fynbos botanical Park in Hermanus. They have been walking the mountains for years documenting and photographing this unique habitat for posterity, in their own time. Aside from the loss of possessions, and cameras and photographs, is the fear that this senseless violence will make it very hard for them to do something that they love, frankly, for the good of all of us, albeit in a seemingly tiny way. I know they will stoically carry on trying to do the work, but I am really Mad that this has occurred, and know there is very little that can be done.
This is NOT a isolated incident.
