I have been unfortunate, or fortunate, depending on my/your view on it, not to have any children (that I am aware of......)
BUT
I am, in my opinion, profoundly fortunate to have FOUR Nieces!
(Two from my Brother, and Two from my Sister)
As I have mentioned earlier, I think our upbringing was full of love, and exceptional.
It is reflected in the prodigy and happy marriages of my siblings.
Not to gush over them all at once...but my Sisters' eldest (14?)(hey I only remember the birth-day, not the age!) has taken up Guitar!
Now, I am in a total knot, on what to do! What to do! I am Sooo excited that she has, off her own back, started. Something about McFly, I believe....
She pottered a bit with a cello, but this is way more exciting.
I have some experience playing, and I am lining up my 'folkie' books (perhaps not..) and capo's and strings, and tuners and books and and and hey my guitar too if need be.
Playing Uncle can be fun!
