My greyhounds see so much better than I. It's dark outside and they do defy My futile efforts to hold them back, It's Rabbit City, time to attack!
In their minds they're giving chase, Catching rabbits with such grace. A sudden stop as I tug the lead. Please, please stop I pitifully plead.
My cries are heard, Their flight is halted. Pretending like they've Never bolted.
The only evidence of their shame, Is the burning, aching pain Of my shoulders wrenched quite bad, And their heads hanging low and sad.
Repentant only until tomorrow. When once again to my sorrow, The rabbits tempt them, They have no pity. It's dark outside. It's Rabbit City!
