"Death is something every human has to face. Whether a fatal accident releases you from your body, or nature finally takes you in its embrace, death is inevitable, and will remain that way for eternity.. If god has any pity for our race, he would let us die.". -Anonymous
If your reading this, your alive. You have a home, a computer, a notebook, or a printer in which you printed this document. If you were blessed with these necessary items, and you were, you probably have your own home. You were raised by somebody, or some people that love you. You were put through school as a child, probably made a few friends, and maybe a pet or two. If this is true, which I am certain it is, you have already so far lead a reasonable life. One in which for the majority you have enjoyed yourself. I don't know exactly who you are, because I am not here with you. But I am the one you are reading on paper. A paper your reading with your eyes, just another fact I can tell you I'm sure of. You have all these things, these memories I've described to you. But imagine you didn't.
Just for a second, I want you to imagine that you are an entirely different person. Let me shape this person into what I want you to imagine. Right now, you think of death as something that will happen eventually. Something that will happen in the near, or far future. Something that you probably think you'll be ready for. If your a Christian, you believe you will move on to a better place. A place your beloved bible tells you you will, full of happiness, and love. If your an agnostic, you don't know what will happen. You dont care to know at the moment, instead you focus on your life. If your an atheist, you believe you know what will happen. When you die, no soul is brought up to magic, no wonderful figure of creation takes you up on your knee. Instead, your released into an abyss never before traveled into by the conscious mind, called Death. Whether you trust in religion, or prefer to not fill your life with complications, you cannot state your beliefs as true. Nobody can. The Christian Faith, The Jewish Faith, The Islamic Faith, all share one aspect of their existence. The word faith. Because thats all they are. Beliefs no one can prove are true. Because no man has died, and lived to tell the tale.
Your on a boat- and you have been for awhile. The horrifying black waves are bouncing up and down, providing only the reflection of the moons glow for light. Your sail has been broken for days now, leaving you stranded. As you hold on to the braking wood, your heart beats faster and faster. You have a family waiting for you, back home. In America, your were a fisherman, a man very respected, and looked up to by his community. Your life was perfect. But this one trip ruined everything. You beg for the waves to finally crash your boat, every day, sending you into the embrace of the cold of night. You yell out to the storms, "TAKE ME! IM READY!". Every time they approach your vessel. But nobody will come to put you out of your misery. Nobody has the power to free you from your hell. So you sit there, waiting. In the back of your head you remember death as a terror you would have to face, but now you look at it differently. You now pray for its arrival, for the sweet release of death. It's the only door left to open. So you jump. Your options have all been destroyed by the water and the wind, and you launch yourself into the cold, unforgiving ocean. You wait for the freezing water to finally make your body numb, dropping you into the depths of its existence.
If your a normal person, the experience would seem horrifying. But only because you have never been faced with a life of true hardship, like the fisherman. So remember, when you ever wish you were never born, that Earth has spared you from the side of it that is truly terrifying. And would leave you begging for death.
"We can't live without Death." -Joey Acopiado
