When it was warm I'd want to be with you, Every morning fear would struggle with the hope. Now I'm cold I crouch above the fire, Always in my mind the thought would be awoken.

Now I'm calling out your name, Painting pictures in the rain. I've been stealing just to get a better view. I am the eye behind the keyhole of the room beyond your soul, Though I stumble through it all to get to you.

I can tell that it's no ordinary day. And I guess I'll never know, Exactly why I'm watching sideshows in the rain.

When I was young I held a different view, Saved the silence for the moments that you spoke. Now I'm old and in a different room, I can sing it when you find it hard to cope.

I can tell that it's no ordinary day, This feeling just won't go away. Can't separate the love from the pain.

I guess I'll never know, Exactly why I'm watching, Sideshows in the rain.
