He opens the door, they stumble, fumble for words,
shy glances at the floor,
excited , confused exchanges,
awkward moments, close then not close,
should we, did I , should I ,
smiles in gaps, pauses in conversations, silences.
Mugs of tea, conferencing round the table,
looking into the brown pools for pauses, supping the brew
flirtive glances, taking moments, pinching yourself,
Holding stares, chance meeting of fingers, lets touch again,
dancing with dalliances, courting the courted, finding the moments,
closer, the tension in the gap, between the meeting,
holding off, firing looks, holding back, lips touch, falling in, falling back, falling, always falling…..
always, always falling……
