JUST TO SAY

Just to say…..
I'm not there to stroke your hair as you fall asleep,
I'm not there to hear you breathe deep and hold you tight in my arms,
I'm here filling the room with thoughts of you
I'm here listening to the silence

Not to say….
The cats are in, the doors are locked, the lunch is in the fridge,
the ironing's done, the dishes washed and I miss our talking,

Just to say ….
the moon is out, the clouds are gone, the stars are in the sky, the breeze is soft, the air is still

Not to say…
its almost a perfect night….. there's just a gap where you should be
