I sit and look at you powerful body,

Mesmerised by the ripples you so proudly show,

You draw people to you like a magnet

But oh how little do they know you - or care,

You can be so beautiful and embracing

But then turn dangerous and consuming.

Discarding those who love you

Without concern for the hurt you cause,

There is no way to control you,

You are master to no one,

You command respect from all

And destroy those who ignore you,

But when all is said and done,

You are magnificent, oh powerful one,

Such mystery you hold over me,

You beautiful, cruel, man of the sea.
