It must've taken us two whole hours before we began to talk; I remember my hands sweating and my heart racing while he approached me. But before I knew it, we were laughing and sharing stories as if we had known each other all this time; we talked the whole night and continued to see each other throughout the summer. We got to know each other over and when the time came for me to return to uni, I was heartbroken; we were still together but it meant I wouldn't see him for a very long time. But, we kept our relationship strong and without realising, it had already been five years ago since we had met. I realised then that he was the one I wanted to be with for the rest of my life and the only one I wanted. I guess he felt the same way because as soon as I had graduated from uni, he took me to my grandmothers where he had set out a late night picnic in her back garden; he laid out fairy lights and candles and so many cushions that there really was no need for a mat. All night we spent together, and it was the most perfect moment. And just before I fell asleep he sat me up and got on his knee, I never really even gave him the chance to ask before a whispered "yes". We were the happiest we could ever be that night. We married the next year on the exact spot he proposed and he does still give me butterflies when I see him, he still makes my heart pound.
