I don't want to love you The ground seems to shake
You turn me out weak at the knees And need me to be meek
If life's about lessons What lesson is this
Of life, loss and heartbreak Or patience, gain and give and take
If I run from love I will lose and be ashamed But better to run the gauntlet To be laid bare and fearless At least my authenticity I keep
