By Gemma Doyle. One night Mulder went to an orchard. While doing this he heard a noise. It was a crop duster. Mulder started running for cover but was sprayed and fainted.
When Mulder woke up he was in a hospital bed and Scully and two other agents came to see him and they started talking to him. Then their voices faded. Mulder looking up at the hospital tv watched the news intently then "kill them" "Scully!" Mulder shouted. "What?" She replied. Look he pointed at the screen and there it was again "Kill them all." "Uh Mulder it's just the news." "But did you see the words?" He asked anxiously. "No Mulder I didn't I think you need some rest." And they left. Mulder's mind was racing. If they couldn't see it that meant that... He was going to explain to Scully because he knew they were getting close to something.
When he was okay to go out of the hospital he called Scully. "Hello?" She answered the phone. "Scully meet me at the chemist lab I'd like to talk to them." Mulder answered. "Mulder what's this about?" "You know the messages that those victims saw before they killed?" Mulder said enthusiastically. "Yes what about them?" "I saw one Scully in the hospital." Scully was shocked but remarked "well you didn't kill me or the other two agents." "I was fighting whatever got sprayed on me. Scully please just meet me there." "Alright" she said and they hung up.
After talking to them for a while the chemists told and showed them a program about crop dusters. "One year something different was sprayed over the orchards or crops. It was a chemical that contained LSDM. When exposed to it it caused them to see these threatening messages you're talking about and their phobias cause them to kill." Explained one of the chemists. "That's it! Scully don't you see? That's what's happening now!" Mulder said excited. "Okay well it makes sense. We'll go to the city councilman and ask him to test everyone." And they thanked the chemists and left.
They confronted the city councilman and told him everything and asked him if he could let everyone get tested. He agreed and Mulder and Scully got to work.
