Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Hope your was quite perfunctory.

I don't know what perfunctory is, but there you have it.

Mine was quite fine. An average Christmas morning. On that said day, I woke up to blue skies, 60 degree temps, and a general springtime feel about it. No, I do not live in California. Not Florida either, but good guess. Wait: that was a lie. I woke up to a still dark sky, probably rather cold, and a general nighttime feel about it, and also the feel of pain, since my brother is screaming in my ear that GUESSWHATIT'S-CHRISTMASSANTASANTASANTAGODOWNSTAIRSYOUSLEPTINI'MSOEXCITEDWHATWILLSANTABRINGPRESENTSPRESENTSPRESENTS!!!!!!! I, understanding as much as you are about what he said, said basically, "shut up, it's five-thirty." and he goes and bothers my sister.

After getting getting getting!!!!!!!!!! till we can get no more, we go to our grandparents for dinner. There are two tables for eating: The Adult Table Of Status and Greatness and the little kids table in the kitchen, where me and my two siblings sit, waiting till we can become 18 and go into the Dining Room of Great Status and Greatness to eat.

After dinner, there was the usual political debates, started by my Grandmother, ad I usually sneak in the dining room and listen to that. But I stand even when there is a seat available, because once, when I was 7, I spilt a cup of coffee on the table and I think my Grandparents are still debating on whether I can eat at the Big Table when I become 18 or 32. After dinner, dread sinks into my stomach. It is time for opratki. If you are Polish, you may know what I mean. You may also know how to spell it. But if you aren't, I will explain: You have a little piece of bread, and you go around to other people and tell them how much you appreciate them, then give them a bit of bread and they do the same to you. I dread this. I usually go up to someone, say something like, 'I hope you have a merry Christmas, and a happy New Year! and that person says, "Relation, you are so creative. You should always keep that up. Remember, whatever happens, follow you heart. And etc, etc etc. " and then there is an awkward pause, and I say, "Same to you!" and my relation goes off to torture some other poor, timid soul. Actually, that doesn't happen to me. I hide in the bathroom and eat the bread till the storm goes over.

And then we leave! And we go home to admire and show off our presents that we got got got!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and my little brother reminds me that Christmas is all about the joy of getting.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a Most Joyful and Beautiful In A Non Contemporary Way New Year!
