20 July 2012
Back on the road,
In his Bugatti
The traffic hasn't once slowed
Onto the next place
Heathrow then JFK
Putting on a brave face.
With Guy on my right
And my luggage in the trunk
I want to get away until I'm out of sight.
Lady at check-in jokes that I need a loyalty card
Never realised that I was this much of a regular
All I know is I'm starved!
Sitting in first class,
Dining for free
With my family's name as my platinum pass.
Guy's first time,
Gazing out at the planes
From this vantage point after the long stair climb.
Having a much needed manicure
Blazing red nails for the duration of the flight
What a surprise having to sign a signature!
Flight leaves in a while
So for now we can relax,
Watching the staff go that extra mile.
Running away from these problems of mine,
Some say it's a blessing, some say it's a curse,
Trying to pretend that everything's fine.
But Guy's seen through it,
Which explains this spontaneous trip:
Hamptons bound, hope my bikini fits!
