I opened my eyes from the kiss and saw my favourite place in the whole world. We were in Central Park, at The Lake. What made this evening scene more beautiful was the fact that Nate had arranged for my favourite area around the lake to be decorated entirely in white. White roses were scattered all over the ground, on top of a white sheet. There were rose petals leading to the sanctuary, which we followed, looking at the sunlight that danced on the surface of the water. Nate's arm was around my shoulder and mine was around his waist. This was so perfect. I had to close my eyes to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

We sat down on the ground, where he had champagne and strawberries for us. I lay down, and looked up into the sky, pink-turning as the night approached.

"I don't want this day to ever end," I said, as he lay by my side. I rested my head on his abs, feeling his breathing like I never had before. I matched our inhalation and exhalations, and before long, he was lightly stroking my hair with his fingertips.

I took a strawberry from the pile next to us, and ate it in three small bites, devouring its sweetness and enjoying the feel of the juice on my lips.

"You realise you eat strawberries in the most seductive way ever, right?" he said, stroking my now bare shoulders. I laughed and carried on eating.

"You're not complaining are you? Because if you are I'm sure I can stop" I joked.

"Wow, please don't. I'm kind of enjoying it" he said, winking at me.

After lying there and chatting some more, I looked at my Rolex, and noticed that it was close to 9pm.

"We're going to be in so much trouble..." I said. "What do we do?"

"Why don't we just not go back?" Nate suggested, pulling me closer.

"I wish that was a possibility, but then people would find out about us. We need to go now, I think."

"Why don't we go back to your place?" he asked, kissing me on the forehead.

"We... I don't..." I said, contemplating this issue. "And say what, that my parents invited us back to stay over?"

"Your doorman could call in and pretend to be your dad?"

"I like the way you're thinking" I said, smiling up at him and gathering my belongings.

"This night has been so perfect. Thank you" I said, smiling up at him and feeling our foreheads touch, as his lips met with mine. The water on the lake was calm, and the light of the moon was reflected on the still surface.

I looked across to the city, the buildings soaring high into the sky, covered in lights. I imagined all the men coming home to wives, all the wives tucking in children and all the others partying on the top of these buildings. The city was so alive, and so was I. I felt more alive than I'd felt for such a long time.

We linked arms and walked back to my penthouse apartment on Madison Avenue. When we reached the door, Rad, my doorman, greeted me ecstatically and we briefed him on the plan. He was more than willing to oblige, and as we went into the elevator, we maintained a calm facade. As soon as the doors shut, we were back to being lovers. He grabbed my waist, and started to kiss me passionately, taking off his jacket as it was an incredibly hot evening, especially on the long journey up to my apartment. My hands wondered from his head to his neck, along his shoulders and down to his chest. We heard the elevator doors ding, indicating that we were at our floor, so we hurried out, lips still locked, and as I scrabbled for a key card, he held my face, and broke the kiss so we could get into the apartment. I pushed the card into the slot, and the light flashed green, I pulled it out, slipped it back into my bag and turned to kiss Nate again, more passionately than ever before. As the door opened, we were greeted by something we had never ever wanted to be greeted by.
