As I made my way up the staircase to where I knew Nate's room was, a sense of anticipation and excitement passed through me. I got to the top of the stairs and saw a few guys hanging round in Nate's corridor. His room was at the end, the equivalent to Mollie and I's room, and as I went past the group I said hello, and hugged Nate's best friend. He coughed loudly, and as he did so, Nate opened the door, but rushed quickly back into his room.
"Have fun you two" one of the boys said, making the others laugh, "we'll move on in a minute or two"
"Thanks guys" I said, stepping closer and closer to the open door.
It was dark inside, and a few candles were lit around the place. Nate's best friend, Charlie's, bed was in sight, but what attracted my gaze more was the god lying on his bed, shirt still off wearing the same pair of jeans he had been a few minutes ago. I looked around; the sight took my breath away. He had placed white roses all around his room, and the candles were placed on his bedside cabinet and on the windowsill, and the windows all had the blinds down. There was soft music coming from his Bose speakers, and as I looked back at him, he had a smile on his face, and he patted the bed beside him.
"This is stunning!" I said, sitting slowly on the bed, noticing the fairy lights that were near the ceiling. "How did this take you ten minutes?" I asked, intrigued.
"I'm pretty fast when I want to be" he said, winking at me.
"This is such an amazing surprise." I said.
"Thank you baby, I love you" I went up to kiss him, but he refused.
"This isn't all the surprise you know" he said, "and you may want to do a little more than kiss me when you see the rest!"
He shifted his body, and reached into the bedside cabinet beside me. With this swift movement, I was able to smell the aftershave on him. He smelt divine, like the sporty man he was, but it was also seductive in a way that I'd never smelt before. I was melting, and when I saw what he was pulling out of the drawer, I melted even more.
It was a Cartier box; big enough to hold a necklace. I inhaled deeply, and he dropped it down onto my stomach.
"It's nothing really, but after that night when your sister brought back your necklace all ruined I decided to get it fixed" he began, "It's nothing really but-" I cut him off, planting a huge kiss on his lips.
I opened the box, and my eyes lit up. Not only had the platinum been polished, but new diamonds had been added into all the slots where they had either been missing or damaged. The best part was that there was now a set of matching earrings, each with crystal clear diamonds, that sparkled even in this low light. I pulled my hair up into a ponytail, asking for Nate to put it on. He did so, securing the clasp at the nape of my neck. As soon as he had done, he started to kiss me there, and he held my hair for me, running his fingers through it and sweeping it to the side of my face, so he could attack the other side of my neck with his love.
I felt his hands slip around my waist, and under my shirt, so he could run his fingers over my stomach, and over my belly button; lightly, tickling me. I started to smile, and as my back melted into his chest, he moved from behind me, and after placing the box back on the side, he cradled my head and lowered it down onto the pillows. He kept his hand below my head, and moved his head down to kiss my lips, allowing our mouths to melt into one. My hands felt the back of his neck, and they buried their way into his thick golden hair, stroking and massaging his head, and then continuing their voyage down his back, feeling his strong shoulder muscles rippling as I moved my hands over them.
I then started on his back, running a finger along his spine until I reached the belt on his jeans. He looked down at me, and smiled, as he rolled onto his side, so we could continue kissing. One strong arm was holding my shoulder, rubbing it with his thumb, and the other was buried in my hair, which had fanned out like a halo on the pillows.
The afternoon of fun continued, the candles still flickering in the dull light, providing a source of infinite hope: hope for a brighter future, together now and always.
