14 June 2012
I woke up with the summer sunlight streaming through the open window; a cool breeze fluttering over our bodies as we slept.
I looked across to the other side of the bed and I saw Tiffany lying on her side, her head nestled in between the pillow and my side, my arm was draped on the pillow above her head. Her hair was cascading down in light curls around her head and over her face, so I swept a few strands aside so I could see her peaceful eyelids closed, and her eyelashes start to quiver as the sunlight hit her face. Her huge brown eyes began to slowly open and as they did, I kissed her forehead.
"Good morning gorgeous" I said, kissing her on the head again.
"I'm so glad I'm not in the hospital" she said, groaning as she straightened her neck and sat up alongside me, pulling the sheet up to her neck.
"What are you doing?" I said, toying with the top of the sheet.
"I'm cold" she said, sinking down into the bed further.
"Aww baby" I said, wrapping both arms around her, feeling her warm breath against my bare chest.
"Thank you" she said, exhaling heavily and sinking into my chest. She quickly fell back asleep, and before I knew it my eyes were closing too, my head resting carefully on her head, avoiding her scar. Her hair felt smooth under my chin, if not slightly matted after the night.
"Wake up you two!" a voice came from outside the door. It was soon pushed open and the figure came in, eating a single slice of toast. "Oh, sorry for disturbing you!" Will said with a sarcastic tone.
"What's with the sarcasm?" Tiffany asked, turning to face him, still in my arms.
"Well lets just say I didn't have the best nights sleep ever!" he said, dramatically winking "Anyway, I'll see you two downstairs in a few minutes?" he said, backing out of the door but looking back for an answer.
"Go and find some girl to schmooze with" Tiffany said, turning back into my chest.
"The girl has spoken" Will said, leaving the room, whistling as he made his way downstairs and out of the door.
"Thank god he's gone" she said, kissing my chest and looking up into my eyes mischievously.
"Baby, we really should get up, it's 11am!" I said, which was greeted with a look from Tiffany that convinced me that she felt otherwise. "Oh, fine!" I said, leaning down to kiss her, breathing in the scent of her perfume that I hadn't smelled for what seemed like an eternity.
