-NATE- "T, get back here!" I said from within the car, but she'd already blended in with the masses of people. I never imagined that she'd ever really blend in with tourists, but clearly I was wrong. I relaxed back into the seat and sighed. I had no idea what was going on with her. Some of her erratic behaviour is explained by hormones and her pregnancy, but this? Did she have to visit the centre of Times Square just as we're driving home? I pulled out my phone and I sent her a message: "I'll wait here for 20mins before I get a ticket, please come back and join me? Xxxxx" So I relaxed back into my seat, putting my phone on the dashboard and picking up my new favourite item; the scan photograph. It may not be giant, but it acted as a beacon of hope for the future, for me.

-TIFFANY- I sat down on the large red tiered seating just below the huge billboard, and pulled out my phone, reading the message from Nate. Without replying, I locked my phone again and slipped it back into my bag. I didn't really know what I was doing here, but I sat here nonetheless, breathing in the atmosphere. I began to close my eyes, so I could only hear what was happening around me. The chaos of cars, people and music was mixing together awfully, but somehow this beat inspired me. It suddenly dawned on me that this must be the 'New York City beat' that tourists rave about. It made me smile, knowing that I'd been so wrapped up in my own little world that I hadn't realised this whole new pace of life that was roaring just a few blocks down from me. Just as I was pondering this fact, I heard someone shout my name. It was a male voice, which automatically ruled out any female fan who's just seen Vogue. I kept my eyes closed though, knowing it'd probably be Nate. "Tiffany, is that you?" the voice said, coming closer to me. "Who is it?" I said, eyes still glued shut. "It's Dan. You know, we dated when we were younger?" My mind was racing. I'd dated very few boys when I was in love with Nate, so I remembered them all well. My eyes shot open, and before me was Dan. The boy I haven't seen for many years, who'd changed considerably. "Dan! So great to see you!" I said, hugging him. "What are you doing here?" "I'm visiting, I live in England now" "Oh wow, here sit down" I said, lowering myself down and patting the seat beside me. He had really bulked up, his shoulders were a lot wider and his body had become a lot more muscular where it was once slim and toned. "You look incredible!" he said, kissing my cheek. "Thank you, and you've really packed on the muscle!" I said, noticing his intensely muscular arms that poked out from his polo shirt. "Still playing baseball?" "No, they don't play it in England, so I play rugby instead. It's basically American Football without the shoulder pads" "So you grew some of your own?" I joked, putting a hand on one of his solid shoulders. "Still got that witty sense of humour I see!" "Never lost it! So who are you here with?" I said. "My rugby team, we're all here on a tour of the US, but I wanted to come back and see the old place. How's everything with school? I miss it a little bit!" "Good thanks, it's my last year in a few weeks, so it'll be pretty sad. And I haven't told anyone yet, but I've been chosen to be head girl" "Really? Well done!" he said, hugging me again. "Yeah, should be good!" "How's Mollie? And Nate?" "Mollie's okay, she's in the Caribbean, so we haven't spoken for a while. And Nate and I are together now" "Oh really?" he said, his face sinking slightly "How long have you been together for?" "About 3 months" "Oh, I always assumed you'd be together well before that!" "Yeah, took us a while to come to terms with how we feel" I said, drifting off slightly. "Are you with anyone?" "Nope, just me and my boys!" he said, pointing down to the group of rather dashing men below us, who were milling around confused and lost in this alien environment. "Do you want to come back to my place?" I said, forgetting about Nate for a minute. "Still living in that gorgeous apartment?" he said, remembering it well. "No, I've got a new place actually. With Nate" "Oh, oh right. Anything else you haven't told me about you two?" "I'll tell you on the way" I said, still hiding my ring finger from his sight. "I'll get us some taxis" I said, calling Rad immediately. Was I really taking an ex boyfriend and a large group of incredibly gorgeous men back to my home? My home with my fiancé in? But then I looked across at Dan and it all made sense. His chestnut hair had gone darker without the American sun, but it was still messy, his skin was still olive in tone and his eyes still sparkled like diamonds coated in champagne. Before Rad picked up, I straightened my dress, and flicked the loose strands of hair off my face. "Hello, can we have about 4 taxis from Times Square to my new place?" I said to Rad, not once regretting what I was doing.
