-NATE-

I heard the door open and I immediately rushed out of the kitchen to see if it was Tiffany. "Tiffany!" I said, rushing towards her to give her a hug "I've been worried sick, where have you been?" "I met Dan. You remember Dan right?" she said, leading him in by his arm. Following him was a group of other men, all very muscular and well built. "Yeah I do. Good to see you again" I said, lacking any emotion. Truth be told I didn't really like Dan; he'd been with Tiffany when we'd been in love, acting as a wedge between us. "Congratulations, you've got a great girl here" Dan said, wrapping his arm around Tiffany's shoulders. I was thankful to know that she'd actually told him about our engagement. "Thanks, you know about the baby too?" I said, trying to make that fact known. "Oh, I didn't?" Dan said, looking over at Tiffany and removing his arm. Tiffany looked at me with a look of disgust, and moved closer to Dan. "Yeah, here" I said, handing Dan the picture of the scan. He looked a little crushed but he congratulated us none the less. "Nate, can I talk to you in the kitchen? Do you guys want anything to drink?" "We'll all have water if that's okay?" Dan said sweetly to her. "Of course. It's pretty hot outside now! Go and have a look round, don't be shy!" "Thanks Tiffany" Dan said, heading straight over to his best friend in the group, who put a hand on his shoulder for support.

-TIFFANY- As soon as the kitchen door shut, I spoke. "You just crushed him. What are you playing at?" "You didn't tell him? What's that all about?" "I didn't tell him because I knew he'd be sad about it. I told him we were together, and that's enough" "Wait, what? You told him we were engaged right?" Nate said, anger intensifying by the second. "I didn't need to. He knows that when someone's in a relationship you don't go there" I said, trying to dig myself out of this hole. "Tiffany. Why didn't you?" he said, anger turning to sadness. "Because I didn't want to hurt him" "You wanted to hurt me instead?" His voice had sunk down an octave and in volume. "No, I didn't mean to. You have to understand why I did it?" "All I understand is that we went to see our baby for the first time, then you freaked out and went to Times Square, then you come back an hour later with a rugby team and your ex boyfriend, and you haven't told him you're engaged or pregnant. Tiffany, please sort this situation out?" "Okay" I said, the sadness passing over me too. I felt like a little girl again, being told off by our head teacher and sinking my head down as I always did. I tried to kiss Nate, but he turned his head so my kiss was planted on his cheek. "I'm sorry" "Just go"
