-TIFFANY-
"Can I have everyone's attention please?" Nate said, standing on the fifth stair in our new house. The large crowd of people who'd attended our small party were all congregated in front of the staircase, waiting for Nate to speak. "I think we all know why we're here tonight, but I just wanted to say a little something about it all. I think you all know what happened with the proposal, as it was all published in Vogue. I suppose that might have been embarrassing for us if we didn't want all this so badly. And by we, I mean Tiffany and I, which you probably guessed already, so I'm just rambling on! What I'm really trying to get to talk about is Tiffany: my new favourite subject. I think very few people actually understand the amount of love I have for that woman down there. And sorry Mrs V, I don't mean you!" he was pointing down at me, and as Mrs V was stood directly beside me, there could have been a misunderstanding. "That's alright Nathaniel!" she said amongst the laughter, putting her arm around me. "Anyway, here's to my beautiful bride-to-be, the gorgeous girl who's carrying my baby, and the girl who's moving into this wonderful new home with me. To Tiffany!" "To Tiffany!" everyone repeated. I always feel incredibly embarrassed when I'm singled out like this, no matter whether it's for a good thing or a bad thing, it always embarrasses me. Nate came jogging down to see me as the crowd began to chatter again. "Alright?" he said to me, putting his hand on my shoulder. "You know I get embarrassed, but thank you" I said, kissing him on the cheek. "Now then, would you like to come and have a look round the house?" he said to Mrs V, who immediately accepted the offer. Over the past few months, Mrs V had become even more of a grandmotherly figure to me. We'd always been close, and she'd always looked out for me, but we'd grown so close recently; I don't think people understand how nice it is to have an elderly friend guiding you along life's path. "So, this is the room Ellie and Joe will be staying in" Nate said, pushing open the door to reveal a room that had a central colour scheme of green. In my mind, when Ellie suggested it, I was repulsed. But now it was all finished, it actually looked stunning. The walls were a mocha shade, and all the furnishings like the bed and the wardrobes were the same colour. Then all the smaller items were a lime green shade, not too bright but not too dingy. "It's gorgeous, I simply adore the colour!" she said, walking in and feeling the velvet and silk scatter cushions. We guided her swiftly through the other two guest bedrooms, as they weren't quite complete, as well as the single bathroom. Then we reached the baby's room. "We really haven't done much work on this, but you'll have to imagine it's decorated for the baby" I said, pushing the door open to the well lit and open space. "Oh wow, this is going to look amazing! You'll have to invite me round to see it when it's complete!" "We will, don't worry!" Nate said, putting his arm around me and clearly imagining the space coming to life too. "Right, this is our bedroom. It's complete, so you won't have to do any more imagining!" I said, leading her into the largest bedroom. Inside it was all cream, in a very French style. The bed, wardrobes, dressing tables and all other furniture was painted a rich creamy colour, but was made to look slightly aged. All the bed sheets were cream too, but they had a delicate orchid pattern dancing up them in jet black. "Oh this looks so beautiful! Isn't this furniture from your room in our building?" "No, it's the same though!" I said, following Mrs V as she stroked the wooden bed. "Now, I've heard a rumour about your rather magnificent closet" she said, with a devilish look in her eye. "Would you like to see it?" I said "Nate hasn't seen it yet either, so you'll have to ignore his reaction!" "Don't worry, I will!" "Hey!" he said to both of us, which made us laugh. "Right this way" I said, pulling open the double doors that lead into my closet. It was basically an enlarged wardrobe, that was more like a separate annex due to its size. But not only did it house my clothes, but it also housed my handbags, my shoes and my accessories. There were four walls coated in the finest and most expensive clothes that man had ever made. On the wall facing the door was the array of shelves, that held multiple jewellery boxes and stands, as well as makeup. "That's where my backlog of makeup goes: the essentials are in the bedroom" I said, gesturing over to them. "And over there" I said, pointing to one of the longer walls "Is where all my handbags are stored" The wall contained many smaller shelves, which were like pigeon holes of sorts. They all contained a handbag or two, depending on the size. Dotted in odd holes were mirrors, and this was apparent all around the room. "And this side" I said, pointing to the wall the doors were on "Is for my shoes". Instead of having individual shelves for each pair, there was four rows of long shelves, that each contained a different style of shoe. On the bottom layer was my boots and large shoes; on the second layer was regular stiletto heels, ranging from peep toes to rounded toes, sling backs to wedges; on the third layer were kitten heels and any heels that were less than 2 inches high; and on the top layer was flat shoes (sandals, flip flops, pumps and the like). "And finally" I said, pointing to my favourite wall of all "Is the clothes" There's two separate 'wardrobe like' spaces, one on top of the other. They contained two season's worth of clothes each, so, as it was summer, the bottom wardrobe held summer and spring clothes, and the top wardrobe contained winter and fall. Within each wardrobe, clothes were ordered: dresses, tops, bottoms, outerwear; and they were as close to rainbow order as possible, despite the fact that most of my clothing was white. Alongside this wardrobe was the obligatory step ladder, which was used to reach the top shelves. Despite my height, it was still hard to view the top levels. Mrs V inhaled deeply, and like a little child in a sweet shop, her eyes lit up, and she emitted an air of excitement. "Tiffany dear, this is absolutely incredible!" She sat down on the central armchairs, in the path of one of the white spotlights. She continued to glance around the whole room, discovering something new every time she looked at a wall. "There must be every brand under the sun in here!" she said, counting them on her fingers. "Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Erdem, Lulu Guinness, DKNY.. And that's just on the bag wall! I think you might even have a better collection than me!" "Thank you" I laughed, looking across at Nate. His expression was one of shock, of awe, of disbelief. "How much do you own?" he said, his jaw dropping open. "That doesn't matter Nathaniel, look at how gorgeous it all is" Mrs V interjected, still gazing around in awe. "See, she understands!" I said, sticking out my tongue at him playfully. "Guess I'm just going to have to get used to it!" he said, excusing himself and heading down to the party. "Mrs V? Would you mind coming with my mother and I shopping tomorrow?" I said, feeling slightly nervous in front of this fashion goddess. "Are you joking? You need no more clothes Madame!" "No no, not for me! For the baby. It's just, I'm happy to be spending time with my mother, but you know how unpredictable she is, don't you?" "I do, and it'd be an absolute pleasure!" she said, coming over to hug me. "There is one thing you can do for me though" "What's that?" I replied, willing to do anything for this woman. "What size are you?" "2 US, 6 UK. Why?" "I'm a 2 too, I don't suppose you're willing to share some clothing are you? This place is incredible!" "Anytime!" I laughed, taking this wonderful woman's arm and leading her back downstairs.
