Really hitting them out of the ball park now..!
-NATE- "Tiffany?" I asked as I pushed through the door into her room. "She's fine. Don't worry" Milly said to me, looking at me with slight disgust. "What happened? Let me see her" I demanded, trying to crane h neck to catch a glimpse of her. "Kim saw you leave Mollie's room and she told Tiffany. Tiffany then fainted. If you didn't know before, she fainted because she was so worried she had lost you. Now, I really don't think she needs to see you right now" "Let me in right now, you know nothing about what I told Mollie, and once again you've all misunderstood everything."I said, growing increasingly impatient and worried about y wife and my child. "Nate?" a feeble voice asked from inside the room that I immediately knew was Tiffany's. "Baby? I'm here, can I come in?" "Tell me the truth and you can" she replied, as Milly begrudgingly moved aside for me to pass. "Baby, I'm so sorry. First of all I want to explain that I'm not leaving you, and you haven't lost me to Mollie. I love you so much, and I never want to leave you. Secondly, I was in her room to explain that to her, and that I couldn't have her misunderstanding the situation anymore, so I told her I don't love her. I love you, T" I said, tears forming in my eyes not only from the emotional speech I'd just made, but from what was beside Tiffany. She was wearing the sweater of mine that I gave her the day before our wedding, and beside her was the child's jewellery box with the ballerina inside, and the only picture of our first child. "I didn't want to lose you" she moaned painfully as she opened her arm for me to hug her. "You never will. Please listen to me: I'll never stop loving you and our baby" I said, running her incredibly flat stomach, my fingers grazing her ribs which were protruding out from her. "The baby!" Tiffany gasped, turning pale again. "Hey, hey. It's alright" I said, holding her head closer into my chest. "We'll go to the nurse in the morning, or we can call Sandy now?" "Can we call her?" Tiffany said, placing both hands on her stomach in agonising anxiety. "Of course. Pass her phone?" I asked Kim, who had it beside her. I dialled Sandy who answered immediately "Tiffany? What's wrong dear?" "It's me Sandy. Tiffany's pregnant again" "Oh Nate, I'm so pleased! Congratulations! Why didn't you call me tomorrow?" "She fainted tonight, and I'm just wondering if you think the baby will be damaged?" "How far gone is she?" "2 weeks maximum" "Then I don't think there should be a problem, what was the cause though?" "She thought I was leaving her... It's such a long story" "Are you sure that's the only reason?" Sandy asked, clearly onto something. "What else can there be?" I asked, confused. "Well, I know I'm slightly on the plumper side, but I really think that Tiffany is too thin. Does she eat three decent meals a day?" "She doesn't eat lunch. And I suppose her meals are quite small, but what's the problem?" "Well that's why she's thin, and that would explain her fainting combined with shock. I'm just worried that she might be depriving the baby of food by not eating enough for herself" "You think? Can we come and see you tomorrow at about 10? We both have a free then" "Of course. Good night Nate, don't worry about her, please" "I'll try not to. Thank you for your help" I said, hanging up on Sandy. "Well?" Tiffany asked, biting on one of her nails. "The baby should be fine" I said, seeing the panic and despair slip away from her expression. "But Sandy's worried that you're too thin to be able to properly carry the baby. It's nothing to worry about now, but we'll go and see her at 10 so she can give us some more information and advice" "I don't want to be the problem" she said, shaking a little as she thought about the prospect of not being a fit mother. "You're not. We just need to make sure that both of you will be fine. You're all I care about in the world now" I said, sitting alongside her. "You girls can go if you want. Or you can stay, I don't mind" Tiffany said to Milly and Kim. "I want to stay, just to make sure you're okay" Milly said, giving me a slightly wide birth. "Me too. Is that okay?" Kim agreed "Of course. You're alight on the couch?" "Sure. Good night" they said, climbing into their makeshift beds alongside our bed. "Lean on me" I said to Tiffany, beginning to work my fingers deep into her back muscles. "Mmm" she moaned, rolling her head as I massaged her. "Please don't worry about anything" I said, working my hands all over her back, from the curve of her spine up to her collar and back down again, releasing all the tension and knots that were building up inside her. "I love you Nate" she said to me, reaching her arm round behind her so she could place it on my cheek. "Shh, it's alright. Go to sleep, I'll watch over you" I whispered, allowing her to rest her head on my shoulder and slide down into the sheets. "Good night" she said, nuzzling her head into my old sweater. "Good night beautiful. Sleep tight" I said, leaning against the headboard and gazing down at her, preparing myself for a long night of keeping myself awake to make sure my wife was alright.
