As a 'holiday special' (because I'm in such a good mood!) I've decided to include two parts as this is probably all I'm posting today x
-TIFFANY-
Both mine and Nate's phones blew up today with feedback on our magazine feature. My blog was an even bigger hit than it had been before, and our emails and messages were full to bursting with positive feedback and love from our new found fan base. I'd spent the rest of the day wondering around the city, doing small bits of shopping and having to sign people's copies of Vogue. I'd taken numerous calls from family and friends who'd seen the article, most notably Mollie and my mother, who was now being incredibly supportive. I couldn't help but feel that she was finally becoming my mother: like the thought of being a grandmother had made her realise she still had to be a mother. That evening, we went to Butter: one of the most exclusive and upmarket restaurants in New York City. Normally, there was an extensive waiting list, but we took a chance that evening, hoping our new found fame would carry us through. I wore the dress that I'm wearing on the cover: a white floaty knee length dress, with elaborate pearl beading around the neckline, in the shape of a collar. Nate wore a regular suit, but his face was too easy to identify, so we hoped this would get us in. We turned up at 6.50, and approached the waiter on the door. "Hello, welcome to Butter, what name is your reservation under?" "We don't have one" Nate said "So you'd like to make one? The waiting list is about 4 weeks long, so give me any-- wait. Do I recognise you two from somewhere?" "Yes, we're on this month's Vogue cover" I said, smiling sweetly at him. "Oh gosh, well in that case you'd better come through" he said, holding his arm out for us to walk before him. "We'll need a table for four, if that's alright?" "Of course, what sort of time will they we arriving at? Just so we can let the staff know" "Around 7 we think" Nate said, insisting on holding the chair back for me himself. "Of course sir, I'll leave some menus and your waiter will be here any second" he bowed slightly and left. "I seriously love being famous. I see what the appeal is now!" I said, holding Nate's hand on the table in front of us.
-ELLIE- "Hello, we've got some friends in already--" "Nate and Tiffany?" the man at the door said immediately. "Yes" Joe replied, following him into the restaurant. I looked around at the surroundings, remembering bits from my childhood. We'd come here once a year for mother's birthday until I was 16, when I moved away to boarding school in the UK. I hadn't been back for a while, knowing that now I didn't have the family name, I wouldn't be able to get a table as easily. "Hey T!" I said as soon as we spotted them. "Hey!" she said, as she stood up and hugged me. "You look just like a certain cover star!" I said, pulling out my copy of Vogue. "The whole country's going crazy for you!" "It's absolutely unbelievable, honestly! You'll probably be in all the gossip magazines after this meal, but seriously, being famous is awesome. We didn't even need to book a table!" "I can tell, you look amazing!" "You look gorgeous too, where's that dress from?" Tiffany said to me, gesturing towards the dress I was wearing. "Alexander Wang, Joe treated me today" "Very good choice Joe!" Tiffany said, glancing across at him. "Oh, thanks, you don't really think I picked it though do you?" he replied. "Yeah, you're right, it's got my sister written all over it!" Tiffany said to him. Did she just call me her sister? I was always referred to as her half sister, but now I was her sister? I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride within me. It was finally like Tiffany had accepted me into the family, as no one else really had. As I was the product of Tiffany's father's affair with my mother, I'd always found it hard trying to fit into this family, but I couldn't help but feel like I'd made it. "Shall we order?" Tiffany suddenly said, breaking my pleasant thoughts. "Sure" I said, glancing at my sister warmly.
PART FOURTY -TIFFANY- "Last night was good wasn't it?" I said, waking up tithe familiar surroundings of my mother's home. "It certainly was" Nate replied, putting his arm around my shoulder. The sheet slipped down from his bare torso, revealing the remaining extent of his injuries. "Oh god" I said, staring down at the splatter of bruising still present across his chest and along his abs. "Baby, it's okay. I promise you they don't hurt anymore" "That's not the point, I hate seeing you like this. It's killing me to not be able to just magic them away" "Shhh" he said, bringing me closer to him. "You can't do anything more than what you're doing" "But I could" I said, between small sobs. "You take care of me, you're marrying me and you're having my child" he said, "What more could a man want?" I buried my head into his chest, so I could feel his heartbeat on my cheek. "This is probably just my hormones, but I feel so sad" "Why do you feel sad baby?" he said, beginning to stroke my hair. "I'm not sure. I just dreamt about losing you" "Look at your left hand" he said. Confused, I did so. "Do you see that ring? That ring proves that I'm never going to leave you" "And I'm scared of losing the baby" I whispered quietly into his chest. "Hey" he said, causing me to look up. "You aren't going to lose the baby. And if you do, then we'll just try for another. I'm not saying it doesn't matter to me, but of you did lose it, then I wouldn't stop trying with you" "You'd probably leave me, wouldn't you?" I said, feeling tears form in my eyes again. "I would never ever do that. Look me in the eye" he said, so I did. "If you lose this baby, which you won't, then I will not leave you. Do you hear me?" he said, in a harsh sounding tone. "Just hold me" I said, blinking slowly so the tears wouldn't fall as quickly down onto Nate's chest. Truth be told I was terrified: terrified that I would lose him or the baby. Just as I thought again about the baby growing inside of me, he placed his hand on my stomach. He started to trace small circles all around, which relaxed me totally. I began to close my eyes as his light circular massage continued, until I could feel a new sensation. He was tracing words on my stomach, and from what I could feel or his gorgeous curly handwriting, he was writing 'I love you'. "I love you too" I said, making sure he knew I was understanding his tracing. "I was trying to tell the baby, but obviously I kind of like you too" he said. I hit him lightly, before regretting it. "Ouch" he said, placing a hand on a particularly bruised area. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" I said, springing off his chest, my heart racing. The thought of hurting him was too great, so I lay as far away as possible, making sure I didn't harm him again. "Baby, I told you already they don't hurt anymore. It was a joke! Come here" he said, holding his arm out again. "Well that was a cruel joke" I said, nestling back into his body. "I'm sorry" he said, pulling a sarcastic sad face, sticking out his bottom lip. "Shall we watch a film to make up for me being a bully?" "Yes" I said. "Let me guess... Hmmm, 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'?" he said, proving how predictable I was. "If you're offering, that would be lovely" I said, grabbing the remote control and turning it on. Nate had got out of bed to find the disk, but he looked across at me. "You need the disc in you know?" "Duh," I said sarcastically. "It's already in" "What?" he said, astounded. "It's always in. When the cleaner comes in one of her jobs is to always make sure Tiffany's is in the player" "Oh my, you really are predictable aren't you?" he said, lying back down and winking at me. "I love you for it" "I love you for all your little flaws too" I said, pressing play and being greeted by the familiar scene on 5th Avenue outside Tiffany's.
