So, as I was standing at the top of the Empire State Building last night, I suddenly wanted to write some poetry. I'm not overly confident about writing poetry, but I saw how popular it is on Opuss and thought I'd give it a try! Please tell me what you think!

Waking up after a sleep that was oh so deep Looking out on the city that never sleeps In my fathers suite, staying on floor 52, Completed by a glorious Times Square view. Wondering the city, taking in the sights The sky so blue and the clouds so white Eyes roaming from the sky to the street Feet dance on the sidewalk to the notorious New York City beat. Meeting up with friends old and new, People I'm proud to say I once knew. Dining for two, Staying awake until the sky turns it's morning blue. Soaring higher than the towers, In a helicopter: a true sign of power. Throwing green faces around in the stores, Travelling up every floor, Exploring every shop, Making it to the top Of the Empire State building, Just like my father did in the marathon, I know not what plane he's on, I just hope he'll be out here soon, So I can show him the familiar view from the hotel room.
