On Our Own P.1

Asia is the most advanced of all of the continents. There are stories that they have soaring vehicles, and large touchscreen televisions. Things that countries like mine only dream of; but instead we work. Everyone who's under eighteen works the day shifts in the crops, while those who are older chose to either work night shifts in the crops or a choice between day or night shifts in the oil patches. After noon on Saturdays and Sundays are the times we get off, unless you're summoned to a mandatory teaching.
A large 'SNAP' rings out into the air, followed by a painful groan. Punishment for skipping out on work. Comrads will find you for missing work., and you will be punished. They're are cruel, unforgiving government workers who are told, brainwashed, to believe that everyone works for equal pay-equal charge.
