I recall a conversation I had with a co-worker who told me that he was realizing that a lot of the pain in his life was because he didn't love himself. I remember him saying "I want to love myself but I don't know how" breaks my heart. Like me he grew up in a religious community that told him there was nothing to love about himself. Another lie buried in the heart now given birth to pain and self destruction. It's time we pull these trees up at roots.
