I kiss his forehead. "I love you, Oli", I whisper. I love you more, Louisi-Anne", only Oli calls me by my full name. Everyone else just calls me Louise. But I don't mind, I love him, so I hardly notice.

We lie back and watch the stars. I see a speck of light shoot across the sky. I know in my mind that it's just dust burning up in the layers of the atmosphere. But it's still magical. I watch it dart across the sky, leaving a white hot cut trailing across the patchwork of the deep purple night.

I lay my head upon Oli's perfect shoulder. He sighs gently and wraps his arm tightly around me. "I'll never let you go", he whispers. I feel his breath licking my gentle ear. I don't know why but I picture his breath as violet. A violet breeze wisping around my face.

After what seems like no more than a blink of an eye it's time to leave. We run to Oli's house. I'm barefoot, I've never liked shoes.

I feel the dewed grass between my toes. Lush. I take a cigarette from my back pocket. I know it's a disgusting habit, but I can't help myself. It's like a diluted version of love.

I jump into the flowered blue chair. The smoke rises from my mouth. Oli's great about it, he never complains. He lifts me from the chair and twirls me around and kisses me slap bang on the lips. We fall to the floor. Little was I to know that I had left my smouldering cigarette burning on the cotton fabric of the arm of the flowered blue chair.
