I want a man who Will wake me up each morning With a gentle kiss No more screeching alarms Just the pressure Of his lips Against mine
I want a man Who will sit though a rom-com with me Rolling his eyes And wrapping his arms around me As I blubber at the happy ending Even though he'd rather be watching Men shooting each other Or playing football But handing me a tissue instead
I want a man Who will dance with me In the middle of a crowd Of complete strangers Laughing at my terrible dancing And picking me up As I fall in the mosh pit Grinning with me Feeling like We're the only people In the world
I want a man Who will walk me home Giving me his jacket As I shiver in the midnight air While he walks in just a shirt Without complaining
I want a man Who will kiss me in central park Walking the streets of manhattan hand in hand And visiting the statue of liberty Christ the redeemer Machu picchu and the nazcar lines Which I haven't seen yet Because I've been waiting To visit them with him
I want a man Who will trail around a foreign city In the blazing heat Grumbling all the way Until we find the best ice cream shop And I pick the most normal flavour there is A perfect vanilla
I want a man Who will end my day With toothpaste kisses Putting his hands over my eyes A guessing game we always play But we always know The person on the other side of Those soft, gentle hands
I want a man Who will wake up next to me And say 'let's go to the beach!' Even though it's pouring With rain
But most of all I want a man Who will stand in a crowd of people I don't know And point to me Saying 'See that girl over there? The one with the big smile and bushy hair Looking like a lunatic And laughing You know who I mean? Yep. That's my girl.'
