Hello ladies and gentlemen. I hope you are siting comfortably and waiting for the show to begin. Because this, dear friends, is a show unlike any other. And I am not your average narrator. My name is death. And I have many stories to tell.

You may I ask what I am doing here with you now as I am a very busy...thing. Well, lets just say I took a holiday. A very long, permanent holiday. And as I like to remain occupied I thought I should share my tales with the world. But not my own. I think my own story will remain a secret.

I have travelled around the world many times during my employment but never have I discovered another house like the Hadstone residence. I will not tell you when I visited, but you should know it was during a time when servants and maids were common in rich households and this was no exception. My story begins with the life of Mrs Maria Hadstone, the lady of the house. And let me tell you, she was a very difficult soul to reap. Clingy, I remember.

My story begins on a cool September evening, with a cloudy sky and the smell of toffee floating from the kitchen. Are you ready? Let us begin.
