As the wind shrieks outside Like to demons in my ears I find refuge within the words That leap from their paper cage As I hide behind the ghosts That rise From my teacup.
Hey, I'm Kelsey :) I love reading, drawing, poetry, photography, playing guitar, and art. I can't live without music. My Chemical Romance saved my life. My favorite color is orange, I think Robert Pattinson made a much better Cedric than Edward, I'm a bit of a nerd, I'm a band geek, and I'm a little shy but very friendly :) Hope you like my poems!
As the wind shrieks outside Like to demons in my ears I find refuge within the words That leap from their paper cage As I hide behind the ghosts That rise From my teacup.
I have waded Too far out Into this sea of white Abandoned by the vessels That could save me From drowning.
The sky's solemn tears Whisper as they fall Tapping their grey fingers on my window Asking me to come out and Dance with the wind.
This knot in my throat Is not letting my words through So you’ll never know How I truly feel (Wouldn’t tell you if I could) Guess you’ll never know.
Fly away freedom You have left me alone and Lost, so far from home.
Some are wrapped gaily Bright, cheerful, shining You expect the same within. But what if the cover was Compensating for what was inside. What if it was cold and grey- A box of television static.
Black patterned wings bloom Staining beauty into flesh Saving me from me.
Your voice is like ice Freezing my thoughts and sending Shivers down my spine..
Words Forcing their Way through my Thick armor, slicing like Little blades, like tiny daggers. Oh, I wish that They would just Leave me Alone.
As I sit behind closed doors, my carefully constructed facade takes Leave of my face. Unmasked, I become an Open book, because there is no need to hide if No one is around to see my Emaciated heart.
Home is where the lake ebbs and flows. Home is where the spirit of friendship glows. Home is where our pride will flood. Home is where family is not by blood. Home is where we stand united.
Such a simple set of syllables Or so it appears. But in Reality, those six letters come as a Rough punch to the stomach. I can’t breathe. You think this fixes everything..
As she smiles, you say, The sun comes out of hiding and is Outshone by her radiance.
The pillars three Once stood so tall But it seems to me Like they’re now bound to fall.
All together, we walk alone Against all we’ve ever known We don’t know if is right But still, we prepare to fight In these battles no one sees.
A reflective surface tricks you Hiding mysteries waiting to be unraveled So dive down Down Into the blue And enter a whole new world.
Tomorrow, you say, Things will be different. Tomorrow, you say, Changes will be made. Tomorrow, you say, Everything will be alright.
Your mouth can hide behind a smile, Your voice behind a laugh, Your scars can hide behind cloth and ignorance, But how can you disguise your eyes.
Waltzing with words, sidestepping sentences My voice wears a mask to confuse the curved Punctuations hanging in the air Their clumsy feet cannot match my fluidity, my grace.
