Memory is a child walking along a seashore. You never can tell what small pebble it will pick up and store away among its treasured things. ~Pierce Harris, Atlanta Journal
Memories, we all have them, good ones, bad ones and down right ugly ones.
But they are universal.
Lots of people have the same memories, like a first day at school, first jabs, Last nights, best dinners as a child...
Yet we all have unique memories, one of the earliest I have is of my grandfathers clocks, and the first time I saw them.
Memories are good, memories are bad, some are smack bang in the middle so you can't decide.
My best memory is from this year, I was attacked at school by a group of people who don't like me (that's not the good bit) And I was sent to my class afterwards, with a bad limp. After the lesson he asked me to stay behind, and we just talked, about what happened and he said he was on my side, he said it was unlikely that they'd get in trouble for it, but if he teaches them again he'll have a bit of a word. He then went on to talk about when I leave school, and how I'll find people who will respect me, because when you get older smart and different are things to aspire to, not crush like they do now. He said I handled the situation maturely and didn't blame me for lashing out at them, any human would.
This was an amazing time for me and I finally felt respected... It was nice for once.
My worst memory has to be in year 7, the easiest way to put it is that a nasty joke went around, and people pinned the blame on me, one of my teachers believed them, and treated me like dirt, yelled at me, yelled and yelled, and almost got me expelled for something I didn't do.
We haven't spoken a word since, and I think he still blames me, even though it was proven not to be me.
The worst part of it was he called me a monster, which hurt, and I became very upset with myself and got Ill because of it.
Well that was my opus about memories, sorry it was long... The quote was just too beautiful to leave out :)
