...To the right of my side, I look up with a jolt to find him standing there, the man with the smile that could melt thin air.
There he was, the man in green, looking almost as surprised as me.
"A Visitor... GO NOW, LEAVE ME ALONE, You're one of o'hares henchmen, aren't you!"
No Mr onceler sir, I mean you no harm, I came only to ask you a question!
"oh did you now, I guess you want to know about the trees, here's what you need to know about the trees, I KILLED THEM!!"
No mr onceler sir, that's not what I came to ask... Please... Don't hurt me...
"I'm sorry, so sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you, please, please, PLEASE come in..."
Into the factory....
"Please, this beautiful factory, my life's work, it's gathering more dust than my old attic at home.."
And then I walked, through those hallowed halls, through the extravagant alleyways, plastered in red, green and gold,
Past the thneed making machines, past the sorting room. And finally we approached those big wooden doors...
"and as I was saying, this factory was the main thneed provider for all of... I'll just quit it now, you're obviously not listening..."
Oh no mr onceler, I am listening, im just in such a sense of...
"a sense of awe, of wonder, a sense of mystery and privilege, and do you know what, that's how the factory was built to be, astounding and perfect, but this room ahead is the grandest of them all, the Pièce de résistance... My office."
And as he opened the door, My breath caught in my throat, as before me stood, the most beautiful room I've seen in my life, the ceiling, higher than a house, the floorboards, would once have shined like a diamond, a desk as wide as a car stands in the Center of the room, a chair looming over it, and on that desk, stands a mini replica of thneedville, how it used to be, before o'hare took over... and all I can say is..
"Wow... that's what I thought when I first saw it, it's magnificent isn't it..."
And in one swift movement he smiled at me, locked the door and pocketed the key...
"From now on, you are staying with ME!"
