Chapter 4 MORE THAN FRIENDS?:

"Erm..I don't think that's possible..." I chuckled, shy again. Suddenly the African-American girl came up to me, the pale one stuck by her side. "Hiya Cleo! We're graduating soon-" she began. "Here is an invite to our party!" the pale one interrupted. They both gracefully skipped away, arm in arm. "Are they sisters or something?" I asked No Name. "Yeah, kind of, non-related." "Oh, are you all 'non-related' then?" "No, me and the guy with the blonde hair are related, cousins though." "Oh..." I trailed off. "Anyway, so aren't exams going to be hard for you? I mean, because they are all American, and you've studied English." "There letting me do the English tests, there privately shipping them over," I responded. He nodded thoughtfully. "But, uh..unfortunately I'm not very good at English history," I sighed. "Oh, well it happens to be, I know a bit," he brought up. "Have you got any free days?" "Sure, I'm free tomorrow!" I exclaimed. "That's good, I'll pick you up around five," then he left. Wait a minute...was that a date? Or just some study time? Should I wear something nice? Or just my normal clothes? I couldn't decide, so I went to go find Vicky, she always cheered me up. I had a conversation with her about nails, then that drifted to cup cakes, then clothes, then hair and finally my car. "It's awesome!" she expressed, stroking the red hood of my convertible. "Thanks, shall I give you a lift?" "That would be nice, but I'm going to Lol's house, see you in a bit!"

"I have nothing to wear!" I moaned to myself, my clothes spread out along my bed. I couldn't be bothered to spend hours choosing some clothes do did my hair and make up first, before deciding to wear some black skinny jeans, black-long sleeved top, beige casual blazer with some beige brogues. "Hiya Tom, is Cleo allowed to go to Elim's town centre to do some shopping?" I heard Vicky's soft tone say. Rushing down the stairs, I gave a wanted look to my dad. "Sure girls, go have fun." he said smugly. I smiled at him.

We spent around four hours in the town, browsing, talking. "Hey guys...you can stay here, but I just want to go to some jewellery shop, see you at the restaurant!" I said, walking out the door. I walked in to find No Name looking at earrings. I raised my eyebrows. "You like lady jewellery, huh?" He chuckled, "No, I'm looking for something, a present." "Who for?" I asked. "Oh, no one you will know, which ones do you think are best?" I traced my fingers along the thin, glass panel- which guarded the silver ware. "Um...I don't really wear many expensive earrings, so I won't know. But that sliver, diamond necklace is nice," I helped, pointing out an expensive necklace. "Yes, it is. Very, however it's white gold, not sliver. I'll buy it." I looked at engagement rings while he payed, he came up behind me. "They are all very beautiful, why are you looking at them though?" "Oh, no reason. I just like looking, I was thinking about getting my friends a nice bracelet or something, with some new money.." I whispered. "New money?" he questioned. "Yeah, I won the lottery...only one thousand pounds though, not a big jackpot. It was an over sixteen card. I don't want to tell my dad, I am just doing up our house. I worked out, after that I'll have two hundred left, might as well spend it," I explained. I walked out the door with No Name, holding a bag with three identical bracelets inside. "Cleo!" Vicky squealed at me. "We got so worried! We didn't know you would take so long, so we already ate! I'm so sorry!" she panicked. No Name came from behind me. "I am sorry ladies, me and and Cleo saw each other in a shop, we kind of lost track of time," he muttered, although it sounded very clear. The girls giggled. "That happens sometimes, right? You two can go and eat, see you at school Cleo!" Lola giggled again. I flushed pink again, he gestured his hand for me to walk in front of him. I obediently did. When we had a table, he kindly held a chair out for me to sit on. "Thanks." "I told you, stop thanking me!" he laughed. I flushed again, hiding myself in my hair. "Don't do that, hide yourself. You are pretty...there is no need to hide," he sternly said, but with a smile. I stayed silent. "This is awkwardly turning into some kind of date..." I murmured. I didn't want him to hear me, but his chiming chuckle proved that he had...
