The trees dappled the sunlight coming from the cloudless sky above. A waterfall roared amongst the beautiful, bright coloured plants, that swayed gently in the cool summers breeze.

Behind the waterfall was a large, dark, cave. Perfect for hiding, the waterfall would drown out all sound and the cave would shield you from eyesight.

The cave was blocked off by a couple of large boulders either side of the entrance. From inside the cave all you could see of the forest was the sunlight shining through the waterfall like thousands of tiny stars.

Two children, no older than fifteen ran frantically toward the pool, frightened, exhausted expressions on their faces. Realising they couldn't climb over the boulders, they dived in and swam under the waterfall.

The made it into the cave soaking wet and hollow eyed with exhaustion.

The first one to climb into the cave was a short, dark haired boy, he had dark brown eyes, blood shot from lack of sleep, that darted about everywhere as if always checking for danger. The second was a girl, she was tall with hair so blonde it was almost white, her eyes were a pale green and unlike the boy standing next to her, her eyes stared into nothingness as if she was trying to escape the world around her.

"We made it", the girl said quietly to herself, "we're safe."

"Not yet, daisy, we can't stay here forever," the boy said sympathetically. "But yes, for now, we're safe."
