Chapter 1: Down the Rabbit Hole
"Oh, do wake up Alice or you'll miss your party" said Alice's mother to Alice who was sleeping under the family peach tree. "How VERY strange. I seem to have fallen to sleep in such a wonderfull place" said a blurry eyed Alice. She stood up and began to ask what day it was for she had not payed any attention to what her mother had just said. Fortunately for Alice, her mother was no where to be found and was likely already back at the house. "how terribly unfortunate" thaught Alice as she started her short journey back towards her home. Suddenly a thaught jumped her mind. How curious it was that she had found herself in such a place without any reason or knowledge to why she was in this such place in the first place. Surely there must be some sort of reason she had found her self in her place which was surely MUCH appretiated by her mother for she would not be in this place if that WERE the case. Unsure but rather confident nevertheless to what she had just thaught, Alice set off in search of an answer to this particular mystery. How unexpected it must have been to stumble into such an animal than a white rabbit in a waistcoat.
Alice found herself lying feet down with one foot forwards and one foot behind her back. "the ceiling is particularly dull today" she thaught out loud when a fluffy voice spoke in her right ear. "Why oh why must the sky be grey, when a shade of red would make a nicer day". "How unusual. I was just thinking the same thing" said Alice as she turned over to come face to face with the rabbit again. It twinged it's wiskers, gave a big grin, and set off in a peculiar direction. As Alice pondered to whether rabbits could even smile, she felt a strong inclination to follow such a rabbit and was especially curious to where it may or may not have dissapeared to. Naturally, the MOST correct action would have been to follow the rabbit. Alice told herself this as she hurriedly chased him down a rabbit hole. She believed it to be a him, since his waistcoat had tails.
Before she knew it, she was already far within the earth. "it IS suprising how often I find myself in these perculiar circumstances" Alice thaught. She turned sharply left before realising that she was so called falling upwards down the ditch. Curiously calm, Alice performed several rotations and took in the suroundings briskfully as she fell. A tabled notebook, three wooden spoons, fifteen glass candels, a battered old piano with two strings missing and a stool to match, and an outstandingly blue wardrobe. "This must be the home of a VERY stylish person" she thaught. All of a sudden she stopped falling. "I must have hit the floor" she thaught outloud again. She looked at her feet and concluded that she HAD infact hit the floor. "oh, I AM in a spot of bother, it seems my dress has gotten caught under this large glass table". Unable to move particularly far, Alice was indefinately inconvenianced by these sudden changes in events. "what SHAL I do now?" Alice asked herself when a muffled voice came from a-top the glass table under which she was trapped.
"Sorry? Please could you speak up a little bit since some people might have a little difficulty in understanding what your saying" she called.
"I said try the cake!" shouted the voice a-top the table.
"Well I don't see any cake. how could I possibaly try any cake I could not see?" exclaimed Alice. She stood up to get a better view of who or what was talking to her but as she did so, she felt an irritating lump in her left skirt pocket, at first she thaught it was her heart but on closer inspection it seemed to be coated in a glorious layer of peach Icing with the words written 'Eat Me'
"how glorious" Alice thaught as she took a bite of the new found cake. At one, everything around her started to grow small. Her head was now almost as high as the edge if the table and her dress was ripped clean off. On tiptoes, Alice peered over the edge, expecting to find who or what it was that lead her to be here. But there was no one there!
"How VERY strange!". Alice said.
"What?! What is? Did I loose something" said the black leather covoured notebook lying there. This seemed like a terribly sensible reaction given the circumstances, so Alice just replied with a simple...
"no" she waited a cew seconds before going on to say...
"tell me 'notebook', what IS your name?"
"My... M...m my NAME?"
"yes" said Alice, "I would very much like to know it".
"well... Tell me Alice; what is YOUR name?"
"Alice. You allready knew MY name though. Are you a mind reading notebook?"
"AHH, too many questions!"
"iv'e only asked you t..."
"well, I s'pose i'd better tell you... A little bird told me."
"well what DO you do? You see, everything seems to be all out of the ordinary. It WOULD be a shame if you were just a regular notebook."
"I grant wishes". Said the notebook. "tell me ALICE; is there anything you desire? You seem to be missing something." Alice was alarmed but sure enough, she was.
"I wish for a new dress"
"your wish shal be granted"
In seconds, a brand new blue and white frock dissolved happily around her bare body and sat calmly on her sholders.
"How glorious" she said a second time. "You DO happen to be such a wonderfull notebook. May I take you with me since I would VERY much like to get to know you".
"Of course". The notebook gave a big notebook grin as Alice reached over to pick it up.
"I must however warn you that I can grant you only three wishes... And each wish will come at a price..." But Alice was far to preoccupied to listen to what the notebook had to say and opened it up cursorily to find a page of invisible words.
"Why are these words so blank" exclaimed Alice.
"Mff...ff...mmh" said the notebook which was face down on the table.
"Oh, I am TERRIBLY sorry" said Alice as she reclosed the notebook. It gave a cold stare and proceeded to say solemnly...
"These words are NOT blank" said the notebook. "it is your mind which is blank for this notebook remains unwritten"
At once Alice pocketed the notebook and asuming that it had a good sence of hearing said...
"well I must be off for I have a party to attend".
And off she wen't, in search of directions.
