Feminism - A collection of movements aimed at defining, establishing and defending equil political, economic and social rights for women.

Nowadays it seems that atleast in many MEDC's, women DO have equil political and economic rights. However, it has been brought to my attention that women do NOT have equil social rights. This, I dissagre. I degress, in many society's untill fairly recently it has been the case that women were expected to look after kids and look after the house, never hoping to earn as much as a male counterpart. This is obviously a bad thing. Nowadays women DO have equil rights in this aspect of life, which is good. I cannot speak for many states however since this may differ within different society's. So, for the social aspect, I can agree that many women are being mistreated, overlooked and seen as objects rather than people. It is often expected for women to wear makup and revealing clothing. So, are women really 'free'? Yes. Atleast in the non-philosophical sense. The philosophical sence of freedom would require women to literaly be able to do ANYTHING including time travel, and the ability to create, destroy and do anything ever imaginable. I believe this is not what feminism hopes to achieve because life with this much freedom would be horible. So, getting back on topic, some women often dress in this way in order to attract a mate, a friend, or attention. This is fine. Infact this is better than fine. It is an oppertunity that women have to attract a mate. This is not one men can hope to acheive so easily since it is often frowned upon for men to wear makeup and revealimg clothing. I don't think it would be quite so attractive either. There is the point that women, rather than having this oppertunity, are required to do these things against their will. This is not freedom. Or atleat it wouldn't be if this were the case. Women have a complete choice over whether to dress like this or not. It is just that some women have this idea that all men like orange women. If you feel like you must dress provocitavely or you feel like you must coat yourself in makeup then it is your choice to do so. You are free. It is true that men often go for the more attactive female. So feel free to do what you can. It is also true that women often go for the more attractive male. This is just how it is. So you cannot take it as a personal offence if your more attractive friend is picked out by the most attactive guy. Since it is YOU who had your eye on the most attractive guy other than his less attractive friend. Someone you probably did'nt even notace.

Rather than women being oppressed. It is unnatractive people being oppressed. Or more, overlooked. This will not change. Feminism seems to be stuck in a kind of mindframe that this only affects women because it only looks at it from one point of view. So don't treat an entire gender as all having one point of view. This applies to ethnicities, subcultures, appearances, ages and everything. Never make an assumption about a person before you know them.

I do see why many women subscribe to feminism. Maybe they were mistreated, overlooked, objectified. Well, tell whoever did this to you to fuck off and find someone else and stop treating men as aggresive, superficial twats because it does not apply to all of us and i'm sure this does'nt apply to all of you either.
