Chapter 2 - Alice Wednesday 1st April 2012
Ding. ... Ding. That noise... I woke up all foggy eyed and rolled over to switch off the ararm. My body was pulling me back to sleep but mind pulled me up this morning. As I fumbled around for some panties and a nice dress I stumbled into the door to the answer of carl, the land lord. "Oi! Shut the fuck up in there." he raged, banging on the door "and you owe me rent". Shit! I forgot about rent. I'm already behind on last months and carls not a patient guy. Hurriedly I raded my draws and pokets. Yes! A twenty. I unlocked the door. "yes, can I help you?" I said. "Dont try and be funny with me girl. I know where you live" he said, chuckling to himself. It sounded more like he was choking from too many cigaretts. Quickly, I handed him the money and shut the door. "wait!" he said, "twenty's not gonna cut it this time" like I said, i'm already behind on rent. "I'll pay you in full this weekend I promise" I lied. He just grumbled off so I continued with the morning routine. I did'nt know someone was watching me.
Uni was the same as always. Mrs Burchby was rambling on about micro-organisms and whatnot. I trying my hardest to listen but it was hard not knowing where Emily was. "Alice" "Alice!" oh right, that's my name. "Alice, get on with your work. We havn't got all day and the dissection's coming up in half an hour. I hope you've done your homework." "Well of course I have miss. Why would'nt I?". "Don't act funny with me missy" everybody keeps saying that. The truth was that I had done my homework. I always do but I always manage to lose it somehow. Just then, Emily came crashing through the door. "sorry i'm late miss. Sorry, sorry." "too bad Emily, you'll just have to wait outside and catch up" "ah man". I looked up and gave her an encouraging wink. Emily was my only real friend. She's not like those other bitches you get nowadays. Nah, she's... Sweet. Bit dopey but she's got rich parents to make up for that. She probably wouldn't have even made it to uni if it wasn't for them.
After uni me and Emily met up outside. "have fun in school?" she said. "you bet. And it's uni" "what is?" "shutup Emily" On the way home I was briskfully trying to ignor Emily's rants about Mark. "why are you even going out with him" I said. "coz, he's so manly" she gleamed. "riight". "so am I coming back to yours then?" I froze. "For what?" I said worriedly since I still had not finished clearing up my appartments floor, ceiling and walls. "you know. Revision. I need to catch up remember." Oh I sighed. "fine". I said. "but we're doing it at yours".
