I decided to write this after reading Puffy1980 opuss on time travel.
This is not to give evidence for or against time travel itself because I actually think it is impossible to travel backwards in time. Forwards maybe.
I am happy to be disproven.
Split Timeline Theory: I do not know how it would be possible but since life the universe and everything manages to sort everything out somehow then this would overcome the problem of the butterfly effect. People often say that traveling backwards in time would create a paradox of sorts in the future/ present since changing one tiny detail would boulder into a massive difference a few years/ few million years down the line. The 'split timelime' theory overcomes this. If, when you timetravel. You do not actually affect OUR timeline, but you create a new one. It will be written as time progresses. It will be completelly identicle other than what you have changed. New timelines are not completelly out of the question. I believe that there are an infinite number of parallel universes. The reason for this is: - Time is infine. - All possible worlds are contingent. - A contingent possibility in an infinite time is necissary. Therefore alternate universes are necissary in some form or another. Wether visiting them or creating them is possible is another story all together.
This theory therefore bypasses te 'Butterfly Effect'.
I am not trying to force by opinion on anyone (I am not sure I believe it byself), Just get it heard.
