11 April 2012

So we'd just gotten out of having to play hide and seek with a very boisterous five year old. We'd been thinking about sunbathing now that she'd gone, but in the blink of an eye it started to hail. I screamed in pain as I held my hand out and a few ice cold rocks shot through my fingers like bullets. My friend and my brother led the way to a shed, we hid in there, using our phones and iPods for a light. We tiptoed outside again after a half hour or so, to find it was now only raining, but the ground was blanketed by the soft, icy white. My brother headed back in for shelter, but to mine and my friends delight, the road was covered in water. We stood by the pavement to get even more soaked, and we were quite enjoying it till my companion turned to me pale-faced. "Run." She stuttered. I frowned and stared ahead into the road, to see a ginormous truck heading our way. It sprayed rainwater over us from head to toe, do we soaked it up like a sponge. She explained she was going home, and I agreed. I trudged into the house, my feet and hair weighed down by the water. I had a long, hot shower and stepped into the living room with a fresh outfit on, to be greeted by a lovely little two year old girl who greeted me with a hug.
