I have a family, Two kids and a husband.
Still in debt from the marriage, A few hundred thousand I think...
Oh, A know it was a big wedding, I just wanted to show the government, That I didn't need their charity.
Cos' the benefits aren't enough, The benefits aren't enough.
Still living in a council house, Only two bedrooms, My kids are 14. A boy and a girl, So I think that's illegal? So maybe I should take the council to court, Cos' their making me break laws!
Then again, How the hell could I?! I can't afford to shop in Tesco, I have to go to Lidl, Walk all the way, There and back, Shopping bags on my shoulder.
God! What am I?! A flipping African?! I thought this country was rich?! Yeah, right it is.
The benefits aren't enough, The benefits aren't enough.
Maybe I can go stealing, But I'll break a law, What the heck can I do?! I only want some cash,
Cos' the benefits aren't enough.
*half song half poem. By the way I wasn't trying to be racist when I said about an African I was referring to them having to fetch water everyday.
