It was a windy and snowy day, filled with the laughter of a dozen little children frolicking around the grounds of the apartment complex, throwing snowballs and building snow forts. I awoke from a dreamy, peacfeful sleep to the sound of my dog Skip barking noisily at the mailman. I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom, making sure not to step on the sole creaky floorboard right by the door or make too much noise as to not wake the hungover college kids below me on the first floor. It wasn't that I cared so much about making noise, I didn't want them coming up and knocking on my door, alcohol-ridden and sickly.
