Chapt 7, part 1,
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Is all I heard for the next few days. My heartbeat. The steady rhythmic beat of my heart. Doctors and nurses fuss over me. They change my wound dressings constantly. My whole life is a huge accident. I sigh. Nobody would tell me anything about Lily. They just ignored my begs and pleading questions. Jack has come to visit me once. Otherwise, it seems no one cares. Why would they? I was a nobody. I was a useless, helpless nobody. Then one day, a small figure is brought in to the hospital on a stretcher. I sit up in bed as the trolly rushes past my ward. 'Lily!' I scream.
