*My poems are spoken word, so they make more sense when you read them out loud!*
Two hearts sewn together, yours and mine Lend me your hand and I will give you my spine I can hold your beating, bleeding heart in my open, hoping hands But for what? For who? For me or for you? Who needs us more? You're independent, but I think you're wasting your time because you only spend it on making your loved ones feel less lonely Aren't you lonely? Do everyone else's ambitions ever get so heavy that they burn quicker than your own desires? Have you ever watched the wind blow out a fire? In that minute, every wind in the world is brought together for one purpose: to put out that flame I know you've found a home in me and I'm gonna let your roots grow in me But don't you ever just want to be selfish? I scream "stop war and save those trees and god loves you and me and be yourself!" Yet I would help someone I've never met before I looked at a friend without making a judgement I'd love a tree with my whole heart before I'd look inside to see the landfill growing in my living room What should I say? I should ask my mother how she's feeling I should ask her how she's dealing with a gay daughter And a silent son I should listen to my mind when they say I am hurtful I never meant to be hurtful, love And I should hear you like I never have because I'm conceited and I hate myself and your hands know exactly how to bandage any sadness I see So use me
