When did it become accepted by all that the way to deal with an issue in society was to tax it?
political parties introducing a 'savoury tax' is just insane, yes there is an obesity problem in the uk, yes it needs to be dealt with properly but all this does is punish fat poor people and doesn't address the real issue.
If we were to address the real issue it would mean less tax in the treasury from VAT on foods and that's why the governments answer is to add another tax!
The only thing I like about it is the name - 'fat tax'
I'm not fat, nor poor so im not speaking from experience but c'mon world we can do better than this!! Surely.
