Chapter 4
"Draw me Clay" I said laughing as we say on the top of cricket nets together as the last light of the day threatens to leave. "fine" he looked at me flickering a quirky smile as he reached into the jacket and pulled out a leather cloth. He unwrapped the cloth to reveal a stick of black charcoal, a small dusty rubber and a few pencils. I watched him pick up the charcoal looked at me then pressed the dusty charcoal to the blank page. "Clay, How old are you?" I asked as I lay on the cricket nets watching the dark clouds role in over the horizon i looked over at Clay watching him draw me the flesh of his right hand touching mine as the other made swirls with the black charcoal. "19" he said not looking up form his drawing his eyes where almost piercing the page. "I am 19 to" I said smiling not waiting for the question. "you know those boys over there playing football?" I said pointing over to a group of small boys. "hmmmm" he murmerd not looking up. "do you think they would mind if I played with them?" sitting up staring enviously at them. "yes" he said now looking at me,"I think they would not like it very much if you played with them" he said then looking down again. I looked at him confused knowing he was kidding. I couldn't play even if they asked me to. "Ahhh" I sighed "your probably right" I said lying back down looking up to the clouds that swirled around in the sky. "here done" Clay said suddenly breaking my thoughts. I took the small page out of this charcoal smothered hands. The picture showed a young woman lying, staring up into the sky with dazed eyes making of as if she where far away from where she was, she was beautiful, she was me.
