Thunder that drowned out the voices of those that desperately tried to help me,

Lightning that blinded my sight of friends and kept me from being free,

Bitter cold wind that bruised my skin and soul with harsh, cruel words spoken,

Left me drenched in misery, cold to the bone, alone and broken.

One ray of golden sun, pierced through the dark suppressing cloud and saw,

A girl who needed warmth, thought and care, so from my shell they would draw,

Me away from this darkness, the storm passing by and spring closing in,

Showed me a path, no destination but a journey to begin.

Spring turned to Summer, the blossoms danced and sparkled in summer rain,

Melting the charcoal and thick exterior from my bruised skin, melting the pain,

Summer comes to a close, with a warm breeze I can sit and finally see,

The glorious Autumn days to come, golds and reds will dance around you and me.

As the bite of winter will cover in white, the golden of Autumn, I am in fear,

Just a sparkling, pretty layer will reside, as my hand is taken, walking, he will be near,

Those seasons will continue to pass, blossom, rays, reds and a frosty night,

When there’s a new season to come, filled with possibility, the outlook is bright.
