I find it really interesting that because of light having to travel from where it is produced to us, we see the stars as they were years ago. For all we know, the stars we're looking at aren't even there anymore, but because of where we are in the universe, we see them there, and as they appear, not necessarily as they are. Even the sun, we see as it was 6-8 minutes ago.
