When I was 14, I asked my dad for a guitar - he said: "ok, but a cheap one 'cause you'll probably just leave it there after a couple of months."
When I was 16, I asked my dad for a better acoustic guitar - he said: "ok, I actually thought you wouldn't like it that much."
When I was 18, I asked my dad for a bass - he said: "a bass? I thought you played guitar?"
When I was 22, I bought myself an electric guitar and my dad said: "I love your guitar son, play something."
Last December my mom and dad visited my sister and I for Christmas, and my dad says: "here son, I brought you a dombra, it's like a guitar but with just two strings, they use it in Kazakhstan, do something with it."
I loved it.
