Horse meat may damage your health I hear the cry
I ask why,?
Then the reply, at the entrance to the slaughter house it is shown
To consumers it shows horses graze in the same fields as cows
While food inspectors scratched their head, they didn't know.

EU inspectors in high flying jobs , wondering why
They hold up there arms in great surprise
They claim We've done all we can for your protection from harm
It must be greed We'll keep up the speed, new regulations is what we need.

So they created a magic wand for protection
To show they where Harry Potter followers
They called it "Food Hygiene Relations", unfortunately it did not work
It only caught out a group of ladies trying to sell their wares in second hand jars.

They seemed to have missed this horse trading as cows, or was it a blind eye for reasons of outcry.
Alas It has been agreed that the danger may be injurious to health.
Because of a veterinary drug , 'Brute' the long term for it is
phenybutazone which is widely used to treat horses banned from human consumption.

Tests have been taken a little late we declare
The public to brace themselves for a worrying scare
The warning goes out By a government department with no clout its nose into to many plots

The culprit of this fraud may never be found, bet your life it was created by the greedy not needy.
