I've no responsibilities anymore Till death comes knocking at my door Yet, I just cannot ignore Whats now knocking at our door.
We've not got roots anymore With all our traditions thrown out the door No National Pride, no place to call our own In this I'm not alone, we plod alone in our own sweet way
Why, we ask, have we become so complacent Don't we care anymore, Is history repeating itself? Lost traditions create, a different world Why accept it but it makes us sad, we need a new promised land
The young can live with their distractions in life They are taught, to live in this shelter of control Parents no longer rule, it's governments who call the tune To young to know they are being conditioned for later life
We were free to laugh, sing dance, enjoy, climb and roam No political correct English in childhood disputes and games No Health and Safety Regulations, don't allow games No sex education pushed upon us at five years old
Why this feelings of dismay , no responsibilities anymore Why Bother? And yet cannot help feeling this sad dismay Oh I wish that I could see 'Britain" standing proud again To sing our hearts out with our 'National Anthem' Before death comes knocking at my door =============
