Good old 2012,
It's been a fabulous year,
One of the best of my life,
One of happiness and cheer.
This year, I discovered Opuss,
The home of beautiful words,
Endless poems and stories,
From the serious to absurd.
The Diamond Jubilee,
Celebrated 60 years,
60 years of good Queen Liz,
To her, I give three cheers!
The Olympics - what a blast!
Team GB were great,
London did a brilliant job,
Britain's finest one to date.
The American elections,
Obama held on fast,
And proved that this year,
Would not be his last.
Many out there thought,
That the world would end this year.
We're still here, aren't we?
There's nothing left to fear.
So, here's to 2012,
It's time to say farewell,
To celebrate a fabulous year,
Now, there's nothing more to tell.
Say hello to 2013,
Here's a brand new year,
Full of new possibilities,
A new dawn is here.
