A shockwave rippled through the ashen clouds, sending scarlet sparks flying across the frosted Autumn sky. The street lamps flickered out as a bolt of lightning forked down through the air, leaving icy dew drops to soak up the remaining shards of sunlight. A few seconds later, another shockwave exploded across the sapphire canvas and collided with the horizon, followed by a cacophony of sound that shattered the very boundary between earth and sea. A shimmer of gold painted a wake of flame across the shadowed ground, sending hellfire in all directions, towards the telephone poles where they licked the metal cables and dancing across jagged rocks toward the mains power grid. A plume of fiery power erupted from the machines, releasing a crackling nova of pure white energy out towards the skyscrapers above. Car sirens blared out from the imploding streets, driving into one another as glass flew out in all directions. It was a scene of mass chaos, although I was oddly tranquil in this apocalyptic state. There were no choices left, nothing that could be prevented or fixed before the end. I whispered a spell of parting and traced the pentacle in the air before me, crossed my arms across my chest and let the world drain away as I fell into an eternal slumber.
